It has been said that a nation who denies or ignores its past has no future. I have always believed that where we come from is as important as where we are going and acknowledging our past becomes the foundation for building our future.

Nothing has ever come easy for me and obviously over the years I have made many mistakes and in order to prove to myself in a manner of speaking that "I can do it" through trial and error and perseverance, I have developed certain philosophies that have stood me in good stead and hopefully in sharing my thoughts will do so for you as well.

We have all heard the expression "physician heal thyself" and for me means that I have to measure myself against myself as to what I set out to do and even more importantly why I want to do it.
I believe we're at the centre of our own universe, everything begins and ends with ourselves - our thoughts, images we perceive and the actions we take. We have to be honest with ourselves, know our strengths and develop them accordingly, recognise our weaknesses and do what we can to improve and correct them. I call it - be true to oneself.

It's been said that "winning isn't everything it is the only thing". But "what about how one plays the game?" In my opinion, how you play the game is as important if not more so than winning itself.
It has been said that philosophically each of us should see ourselves as if our next act could change the fate of the world. Certainly our acts as estate agents/property consultants and the things we do and why we do them changes the fate (in a manner of speaking) of all the people we deal with.

It's about understanding that our clients are not to be valued merely as a means to an end as defined for and by ourselves, but that they possess dignity and inner worth and are to be respected and valued as an end in themselves. Understand our values, believe in them, learn them and above all live them.

Ultimately people must surely be far more important than technology because a society that values technology above people will with the passage of time lose its moral compass and values. A brand is a promise made, a great brand is a promise kept - keep your promise.

In today's world of fast public communication - the consumer age - the stories will be told and they will be heard. It's your decision and up to you as to what they will be.
