False Bay and Noordhoek property for sale
Majestic False Bay, stretching over 30 kilometres from Rooiels to Miller’s Point, is South Africa’s largest bay. The Indian Ocean feeds into False Bay, making it markedly warmer than the Atlantic waters surrounding Cape Town. Beaches that are safe for swimming line the length of the Bay, and the coastline is spectacular.
False Bay property includes a very wide range of options, from apartments and modest homes for first-time buyers, to established family homes with pleasant gardens, to opulent homes hugging the mountainside and overlooking the Bay. Among the towns in this region are Muizenberg, Saint James, Kalk Bay, Fish Hoek, Glencairn and Simon's Town
On the other side of the Cape Peninsula is beautiful Noordhoek, with its lush green fields and magnificent length of white beach. Noordhoek property owners have it all, with a friendly town centre that boasts a selection of shops and good restaurants, as well as access to the sea and beautiful views of Chapman’s Peak.
False Bay Attractions
False Bay real estate includes homes near some of the Cape’s most beautiful beaches - including Muizenberg, which is popular throughout the year with surfers, and Fish Hoek, which is an excellent family beach. Also popular is the St James tidal pool, with its brightly painted changing huts and surrounding rock pools.
Just past Simon’s Town is Boulder’s Beach, famous for its colony of jackass penguins.
Every year from about July to October, False Bay home owners can watch the Southern Right whales, which come into the sheltered bay to have their calves.
False Bay also boasts a huge number of popular restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries, and both Muizenberg and False Bay are known for their trendy art galleries and theatres.
False Bay property owners can benefit from the steady stream of tourists to the area, with excellent opportunities for investing in guest houses or renting out homes during the tourist season.
Noordhoek includes a range of properties, from more modest houses to luxurious homes. As well as Noordhoek Beach and the nearby mountains, attractions in Noordhoek include its vibrant community of artists, and a variety of excellent coffee shops and restaurants. Noordhoek is also home to the Monkey Valley Resort, overlooking the beach and with world-class accommodation and dining facilities.
A popular activity in Noordhoek is horse-riding, especially along the beach.
