Jawitz Properties understands the importance of Corporate Social Investment (CSI). Our CSI objectives are to empower people from previously disadvantaged communities and to assist children through education. We support skills development and have sponsored workshops including bead workshops, card making skills development and the set up on Gardens of Love. Beaded workshops have taken place in Johannesburg where unemployed are taught the skill of beadwork. Beaded Jawitz Houses can be found in the receptions of all our offices. We have also commissioned a range of corporate gifts. MySchool Trust We have set up a Jawitz Properties MySchool Trust. All members of Jawitz Properties receive a MySchool card which can be swiped at over 2 500 participating MySchool companies across South Africa. Jawitz Properties matches Rand for Rand what is raised by our staff using their MySchool cards. With the funds raised using the MySchool cards, we will provide much needed stationery for the children Lapeng Creche situated in Joubert Park Johannesburg and the Thembelihle Senior Secondary School in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, to develop a school library. Winter Drive Our 2008 winter drive, 'Frost on your windscreen, Imagine being homeless?' was a great success in Johannesburg and Cape Town. We collected blankets and clothing for the homeless of Johannesburg and with the assistance of Paballo, a non profit orginisation that cares for the Johannesburg homeless, we distributed the blankets and clothing. Over R10 000.00 was raised in an office fundraising initiative. 94.7 Highveld RAW Wish List This year through the 94.7 Highveld Wish List in December 2005, we were privileged to help 94.7 Highveld Stereo grant a wish on home ownership. The wish sent in by Charles Davis was for a house for his 'hero' Sam Davis, who was shot and killed 50m from his shack in Ivory Park.
